Beach Hop.

We were on one of our road trips to Rotorua when we kept passing these hot rod cars and gangs of bikers on their harleys. After a while, our curiousity got the better of us and we decided make a detour and follow these bunch of mean-looking bikers in leather on their big-ass harleys with barrels as exhaustpipes. We followed them to this seaside town called Whangamata (pronounced: Fha-ga-ma-ta). *Shrug* It's Maori. (There's another town called Whakatane which when pronounced sounds like "F***-yer-auntie"! We eventually visited that city too. How can we not with a name like that?!)

Whangamata was having their annual Beach Hop event. Beach Hop is a nostalgic festival that celebrates the best of the 50's and 60's. They have the music, the cars and the people. Bands belted out rock 'n roll ballads while Betty Boop and Elvis strolled down the streets.

And they have these vintage cars and bikes driven from all the different corners of NZ to gather at this annual festival.
