How much does a gallon of water cost?

Well it really depends on who's buying it here in Jakarta.

If I were to buy a gallon of drinking water, it will cost me R60,000.
For the same gallon of water, my housekeeper pays R11,000.

Imagine the look on my face when I found out.

sadly that's Indonesia for you.. double standard pricing is the name of the game, and greasing palms is the fastest way past redtape :(

I think sending your staff to buy it + giving her thank you tip is still cheaper than you buying it
